Be a Part of the DBWOA Team: Volunteer Opportunities!

The Dale Basin Well Owners Association has opportunities for you to be of service to the association. That’s right; you can help keep the association strong and vital by volunteering.

Currently, there are three positions open on the Board of Directors, and elections are being held at the December 7, 2025, meeting. The positions of President, Secretary, and a Director position will be elected.

This is not as intimidating or time-consuming as it may sound. There are three General Membership Meetings per year, with a Board Meeting two weeks before each General Membership Meeting. Occasionally, there are one or two more meetings throughout the year.

Another way to help the association is by volunteering to be part of the Outreach Committee. One of the functions of the Outreach Committee is to seek out new members. We currently have flyers and business cards at some businesses and would like to add more. This could be your little project! If you have a passion or interest in photography, then we have an opportunity for you! The association would like photographs, and if we can, videos of our General Membership Meetings. Please read below for more information.

Board of Directors positions open:

President:  The President shall be the chief executive officer of the Association and shall preside at all meetings, shall appoint, with approval of the Board, the chairman of all committees, shall sign all checks for expenditures by the Association, shall represent the Association as may be required, and shall perform all duties incident to the office of President.

Secretary: The Secretary shall record and preserve the minutes of all meetings of the Association, prepare ballot materials, shall keep a sequential of all binding resolutions which are duly approved by the membership, and shall receive correspondence and communications relative to the Association, maintain files thereof, shall report such correspondence or communication at Association meetings, shall prepare official correspondence as directed by the President and/or the Board, shall receive and handle any requests from the general membership relative to agenda items, and shall perform all duties incident to the office of Secretary.

Director: The Director shall attend all meetings and participate in all matters pertaining to the Association. Each may serve as Chairman of a committee or committees and may perform duties as directed by the President or the Board.

In order to be elected, a person must be nominated. A fellow member may do it, or you can nominate yourself when nominations are opened at the meeting.

Outreach Committee Volunteer Opportunities

Photographer and possibly Videographer: The DBWOA is looking to preserve our meeting with photographs and videos. If filmmaking and/or photography is a passion for you, then here is a great way to help out the DBWOA and connect with your passion. This could be one person doing both, or a person doing photos and another doing videos. The photos would be of the interaction between the Board of Directors and the audience, but primarily the education portion of the meeting.

The photos would go on the DBWOA website. The video would focus solely on the educational portion of the meeting. The videos would be posted on the website and our YouTube channel. Our IT manager would take care of the posting to the website and the YouTube channel.  This is not a huge time commitment as we only have 3 meetings per year.

Adopt a Location Person: A hard position to pin a name on, but a vital position for promoting the association. The DBWOA would like to expand our outreach with a flyer and business cards at local businesses that are frequented by Wonder Valley residents. We have flyers up at a few locations and would like to add business cards. We need volunteers to adopt a location to ensure the business cards do not run out. You could adopt one or multiple locations. A visit to the business once a month would be your time commitment. Business cards will be supplied by the DBWOA. You may be going to that business on a regular basis anyway.

We have an immediate opening for someone to adopt The Palms, which currently has business cards. Another location we have is Ace Hardware in 29 Palms. This location does not have business cards yet. You can adopt one or more locations.
